I love to paint furniture and walls. I also painted floors (see the floor on the picture here), but I hate sitting on my knees, so I skipped that part.
This little table belonged to my mother in law. When she died we adopted it and I remade it into something else.
finding the words
is like finding the colors
you were looking for
all day in your studio
you almost gave up…
but, thank God, you didn’t
and look, there they are
shining bright and clear from
the canvas right into your heart
I was making this piece and kept hearing in my head the song ‘the windmills of your mind’ (I personally like this version sung by Sting very much). It is an old song that captures the wandering mind, the halfconscious musing, very well. For me this is what this drawing represents: musing, daydreaming, maybe also thinking in circles and not being able to escape that state of mind.
